Planning Permission & Building Regulations

Every garage conversion requires building regulations approval even when planning permission is not required. This will require regular site visits by the building inspector during the conversion. At the end of the job, when the inspector is satisfied that the work has been carried out to the required standard, a completion certificate will be issued. If any electrical work is carried out by us, then an electrical test certificate will also be issued and a copy given to the building inspector.

the completion certificates are very important documents and need to be kept in a safe place. You will need to produce these for your solicitor if you ever wanted to sell your property in the future.

In most cases formal planning consent is not required for a straight forward garage conversion. We will make a permitted development enquiry on your behalf and confirm the exact position for you. If full planning permission is required, don't worry, we can organise that too!
